GENERAL DESCRIPTION
MICROSTOP is a solid organic phosphonate scale inhibitor which has proven effective in controlling calcium, barium and strontium scales, with Carbonates and sulfates.
MICROSTOP is available in encapsulated spheres (sand type). These solid products are specially formulated to provide long term, uniform inhibitor feedback for more effective scale control. Over 60% of the solid applied MICROSTOP will be released as active residual inhibitor to react and prevent the scale progressively and in the long term. MICROSTOP can be used in conjunction with liquid scale inhibitors for optimization of scale prevention.
MICROSTOP can be applied with the support agent for Frac jobs or apply in the rathole for producing wells. The smallest particle presentation (120 mesh) can be applied together with the proppant agent, and is easily incorporated in fracturing treatments, where it can be incorporated at the blender tub or hopper.
For production the material can be applied with direct injection in slurry version. The microencapsulated inhibitor for slurry version has been designed with particles that facilitate its settling once applied downhole, where it allows long-term protection of production.
The solid dry chemical is a significant cost advantage because the product does not require any freeze protection chemicals or diluents, like water, and can be packaged in 10 Kg bags which are easy to handle.
MICRO-STOP FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES
• Solid additive with high thermal resistance. The active phosphonate has a thermal stability of up to 190°C.
• Multifunctional dry chemical. Product designed for long-term inhibition and protection.
• Solid product can be used for Fracking applications, and long term production protection.
• Possibility of varying the particle size according to each application and specific requirement.
• More than 12 months of inhibition without re-apply treatment.
• Longer more uniform inhibitor feed rates. Inhibitor residual feed rates can be monitored.
• Easy handling, storage and lower shipping cost.
• Extremely stable shelf life in excess of 1 year.
• Performs well in fresh water, seawater, brine and saturated salt environments.
• Easy to clean; (solid), no liquid spill.
• Lower cost than liquid scale inhibitors.
